The gathering
A landmark global gathering celebrating 90 years of Brahma Kumaris’ spiritual leadership and selfless service, Global Summit 2026 brings together leaders, policymakers, youth, professionals, academicians and spiritual visionaries from across the world. With the theme “Spiritual Awakening for World Renewal,” the Summit explores how inner transformation can inspire peace, conscious leadership and a more harmonious world.

1936
The Supreme Father, Parmatma Shiva, chooses Dada Lekhraj as His divine instrument, giving rise to Om Mandali in Hyderabad, Sindh.

1937
Brahma Baba surrenders his entire wealth to a trust managed by women, placing Nari Shakti at the forefront.

1938–1950
A community of nearly 300 souls undergoes intense silence, meditation & deep spiritual study in Karachi.

1950s
The institution shifts to Mount Abu, Rajasthan, creating Madhuban, the spiritual heartland & sanctuary of peace.

1952–1974
First public centers open across India. The first overseas Rajyoga center opened in London in 1971, spearheaded by the senior Dadis.

1980–1983
Affiliated as an NGO with the UN; granted Consultative Status with ECOSOC — bringing spiritual insights to global policy dialogues.

1986–1988
‘Million Minutes for Peace’ and ‘Global Cooperation for a Better World’ campaigns earn seven UN Peace Messenger Awards.

1996
The Canopy of Peace — Inauguration of the Shantivan complex with the monumental Diamond Hall, accommodating 25,000+ seekers.

2007–2017
India One Solar Thermal Power Plant commissioned. Global television programming reaches millions.

2020–2025
Transition to virtual networks offering meditation, mental wellness and inner stability to millions worldwide.

2026–2027
Celebrating 90 years across 130+ countries with thousands of programmes and the landmark Global Summit 2026.

Brahma Kumaris honours the exceptional lifetime achievements of visionary leaders, entrepreneurs and changemakers whose overwhelming passion, innovation and soul power have made them exemplary instruments of positive change. This award celebrates lives characterised by determination, lofty idealism, principles, values, dedication, altruism, indefatigable spirit and service to the nation.

This award honours media personalities who embody the true spirit of journalism — following the highest ethical standards, standing up for moral courage, truth, integrity and independence. It recognises those who bring out truth bravely even in the face of adversity, ensuring that journalism fulfils its noblest aim: to safeguard the ideals of democracy and inspire a values conscious society.
